“3 Pokolenia” (Three Generations) was a fine art exhibition held at Klub Kultury Saska Kępa in Warsaw, Poland, on August 23, 2014.
The show brought together three generations of artists from one family: my grandfather Tadeusz Mycek, my mother Anna Mycek-Wodecka, and myself, Natalia Wodecka.
Showing together was a profound experience. A conversation across generations about what it means to see, to paint, and to make something lasting.
It was also a homecoming: I was born in Warsaw, and this was the first time I had exhibited my work in my birth city since immigrating to the United States as a child.
The exhibition confirmed that art, like communication, is a form of storytelling, and that the most powerful stories are rooted in truth, memory, and place.
